Window Locking Mechanisms

HOW TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT LOCKING MECHANISM

To identify a correct locking system you will need the following sizes:

lock length

Backset

Orientation

Please follow the simple steps below to find out your requirements

 STEP 1

LOCK LENGTH

LOCK LENGTH: Measure the full length of the locking system you are replacing

 STEP 2

BACK SET

backset id1

BACKSET: Measure the distance from point a (middle of spindle hole)to point b (front of faceplate), the sizes will be 20mm, 22mm or 25mm

 STEP 3

ORIENTATION

inline idoffset id

ORIENTATION: Place your locking system side on so you are looking to the side of it.Compare the view to the pics if the main housing is in the middle it is inline if it is off centre it is offset

Another way of tell what orientaion you have is by looking at the front faceplate and checking if the rivets are in the centre or off centre.
