How do I know if my window is top-hung?

A top-hung window pushes out from the bottom. The handle is usually on the bottom rail, with friction hinges fitted at the sides of the opening sash.

Do I need heavy-duty hinges?

Larger, heavier or triple-glazed windows may need heavy-duty hinges. Check the hinge’s stated maximum sash weight and dimensions against your window before ordering.
