Description
The Saracen FM deadlock gearboxes are often found with the code 05060 or 05058 on the shootbolt extension sockets.

Deadlock mechanism systems consist of shootbolt bars and a unique central gearbox with a deadlock. The shootbolts fit into the the gearbox mechanism with a teeth fitting.
Available in backsets:
- 20mm - those with 05060 printed on the extension socket
- 22mm - those with 05058 printed on the extension socket
Available with latch size:

Espag Lock Backset Measuring Guide
SIMPLE STEPS TO HELP YOU CHOOSE THE CORRECT FOR YOUR WINDOW LOCK
To Measure the backset on your window lock you need to measure from the middle of the spindle hole to the front of the face plate. Take a look at the picture below and the red arrows show you where to measure.
The holes that the Bolts go through are a set distance and are the same on ALL window locks (43mm).

Fast service
A product is as good as its life. Contact me in 5 years!! My original fitter was due to charge £65 for a call out and he was not alone. My greatest fear was in disengaging the bottom bolt but after removing the original handle I managed to lift the bolt and thereafter it was relatively easy. I still had difficulty getting the extensions to balance each other but eventually trial and error worked.

Easier to assemble than I expected
It was the first time I have replaced a window lock so I was a little nervous about it (not made any easier by my wife insisting I attempt it during a weekday morning "in case we have to call in a locksmith to fix your bodge job"). However, it was very easy to attach it and works as expected.

Great saving of £65 as quoted by window repairer
Great instructions from Handles & Hinges and having supplied dimensions to them it was confirmed that the size was correct. The window "gearbox" arrived within 3 days and an hour later the window mechanism was repaired. Great service and polite assistance I really cannot fault them. It's a thought that this repair business could be worth while doing myself if it's that easy compared to cost of parts!!
