Spoke to a nice lady on the Thursday, who informed me of the exact measurements of the patio door rollers. They were delivered on Friday, but due to heavy rain was unable to fit them till the Saturday. 10 mins later job done working perfectly. Thoroughly recommend the service and assistance given. Thankyou

    Saved me over £1000

I would like to Thank You as I was led to believe that I would have to replace my patio doors at the cost of over £1000 when one of the rollers failed. It was only when obtaining a third quote did the salesman suggest simply replacing the rollers and put me on to you.

Best DIY £20 repair I have completed

Posted by Gareth Rae on Sep 26, 2012

What can I say about the replacement roller/wheels we received from H&H? Firstly, they arrived 2 days after ordering, which meant I had them in time for the weekend. Everyday counts when your girlfriend cant close or lock the back door. Secondly the quality of the units: solid, obviously well built & housing an additional wheel, for better stress loading. Before placing the order I rang to discuss my queries & the gentleman (didnt catch his name) put my mind at rest & re-assured me if the units didnt work, I can always return them. Swapping the wheels over was quite straight forward, although I did have to drill the door frames, to allow for the greater diameter screw of the new units, but that took all of 1 second. After replacing both units in the sliding door, I employed some WD40 & the door rolls better than I have ever known it to. Over the last 4 days it seems the door has become even smoother (possibly the units bedding down or the WD40 doing its thing). Each time I open or close the door it brings a smug smile to my face. In my opinion, for the money spent & the time taken, best DIY job I have completed to date. Thank you H&H!

    Fitting a 5 minute job!

Posted by ByfleetDIYer on Sep 16, 2012

The rollers are very easy to fit once you can get to the screw holding the old roller in place. In my case I had to take the glass out of the frame to get to the screws which for a beginner is not an easy job. Once I realised pulling out the rubber seal first enables the plastic trim to be removed, it is dead easy. I then had to pack out the fixing as even the high rollers did not give enough adjustment. New rollers are great though!

The end of a long road...

Posted by Chris Wilson on Sep 07, 2012

Ive been reminded on a (roughly) weekly basis by my 86 year old mum that "the back door is really hard to close" for around five years now. Sorry Mum - I cant get the parts.... Repeated cleans and even fitting of custom built lignum runner blocks hadn't fully solved the problem, and as mum is now having real problems with her back I tried to source a new door after no luck tracing replacement runners over a number of years. I was pleased with just how easy the fitting was (it did in my case require dismantling of the door panel frame, and a slight widening of the mounting holes, but this was a minor thing.) One problem I THOUGHT I had encountered is that the two models of runner look, superficially, VERY similar - and that ISNT helped by them having the SAME MODEL NUMBER! - I was within a minute of ringing the company and making a fool of myself when my son, whose eyes are rather better than mine, noticed that while one sie of the door was fitting OK, the other side appeared to have "swallowed" the castors. Comparison revealed the (slight)difference in height and from there the job was completed in less that ten minutes. I'm really pleased with the results- the door runs properly and opens/closes flawlessly. Now then - how do I stand with a paint job on the framework? (Note: from Handles and Hinges sorry Chris I hate painting)
