Glazing Tape is usually used to create a seal between a double glazed unit and the frame on both windows and doors. It is more commonly used for upvc or aluminium frames however in can be used for wooden windows and doors. The tape is double sided and so creates a secure seal which can help to prevent air and water leakage.

This tape was originally used on externally beaded window frames where intruders could access and remove the glass from the outside. This will secure the double glazed unit in place making it extremely difficult for a burglar to remove the glass.

How to fit Double Glazing Tape:

The most common way is to apply it to the frames cutting a separate strip for each edge, you will need to create a neat joint in each corner. Some fitters prefer to use a blob of something else such as silicone to do the corners.
