Side hung friction hinges for upvc double glazing windows by Cotswold.
- Although these are classed as a 16" window hinges the metric length is 406mm
- Stack height is 13mm - if you require 17mm stack height then we have easy-fit hinge packers available.
- Width is 18mm
- All our window hinges are supplied as a handed pair.
- Also available in 12"
These particular Cotswold hinges can be used as side hung or top hung hinges.

We can't promise that however if you have a upvc frame then its easy to put new screw holes in using self-tapping screws. Click here for screws
This is the thickness of the hinge when all the parts are closed or stacked on top of each other. Our hinges are all 13mm stack but if you need 17mm stack then our hinge packers will do the job for you.

Easy fit and sorted closing issue
Bought to replace an existing set of Cotswold hinges that had stopped closing properly (after 16 years of use). These replacements have holes in the same spacings as the old ones so made the job easier. Had to screw in a couple of additional holes the the frame but not the window casing. Once complete, the windows now close properly and keep the draft out! Note, it's quite hard work holding the weight of the window whilst positioning the hinges in the frame to screw them back in - but doable with two people! One star knocked off because I could not get them in the 17mm height version and I had to buy my plastic packing spacers separately. NB the Screwfix hinges include the spacers in case you need them.

I replaced a pair of hinges in 15 minutes, never having done so before. They transformed the window, with an ease of opening and closing. We now have perfect sealing and no draughts.These hinges have a smooth progressive movement and are very strong.

Better Than The Originals
we have had a "sagging" window practically ever since the clowns who installed the double glazing.I think they used top hangers These are side hangers and a larger size than the originalls and they have cured the problem straight away. As they were different I just had to take my time getting them sited correctly. (Tip remove your glass before starting the job, it not only lightens the load, but gives you lots of areas to hold while removing and refixing.)
