ORIENTATION: look at your locking system from the end (cross section).
Is the main drive box in the middle of the rod, or is it to one side. If it is in the middle you need an INLINE mechanism. If the drive box is nearer to one side than the other you need OFFSET.
Another way of telling what orientation you have is by looking at the front faceplate and checking if the rivets that hold the main drive box are in the centre or off centre.
