UPVC Door Handles

Fullex door handles. The fullex door handles are very distinct in that they are the only door handle that measure 68mm in the centres (A in the drawing is the distance from the middle of the handle to the middle of the barrel)

Often the fullex door handles are found on UPVC doors that are more than 15 years old. There are various ways to check if you door handles are 68mm centered by checking the following:

• When you open the door and look at the locking strip is it white?
• Is there a little domeshaped piece of metal protruding from just inderneath the dead bolt?
• Do your door handles have a little turn button at the top that you either find totally useless or have never really known what it is for?

If you answer yes to these three questions &  the handle centres are 68mm (even though you are a bit unsure) chances are its a fullex handle.

The final tell tale sign of fullex door handles is the length. They are 245mm long and between the screws the measurement is  215mm. Click here for Fullex door handles

Ferco door handles. The ferco door handles are very distinct in that they are the only handle that measure 70mm in the centres (A in the drawing is the distance from the middle of the handle to the middle of the barrel)

Again the ferco handles are often found on UPVC doors that are more than 15 years old. There are various ways to check if your door handles are 70mm centered by checking the following:

Modern Door handles This is where the fun begins.There is much confusion about which replacement door handles you should get for your UPVC front or back door. If you have read the notes above you have probably realized that with a little bit of careful measuring and common sense choosing the correct door handles shouldn’t cause too many problems. The modern day uPVC door handles usually have a centre measurement of 92mm. To make sure you get the right door handles you will need to take 3 measurements.

• The overall door handle length
• The distance between the door handle screws
• The distance between the middle of the handle and the middle of the barrel
