GU Europa 3 Deadbolt Multipoint Door Lock
There are 2 versions of this particular lock:
- Standard: 1228mm between the top and bottom deadbolts
- Long: 1610mm between the top and bottom deadbolts.

GU Europa Details
Measurement A is the Centre. This is the distance between the centre of the barrel and the center of the spindle.
Measurement B is the back set. This is the distance from the front of the locking system to the middle of the spindle.
Simple steps to help you choose the right size backset for your Gearbox
The Backset size is A in the diagram
Measure from the the front of the main faceplate (A in the diagram) to the middle of the spindle hole. This measurement is taken when the gearbox is attached to the main front face plate.
Measurement B is the PZ Centre.

Replacement mechanism

Installing new lock
The lock is of reasonable quality but comes with no fixings so you need to carefully remove old lock and reuse. It is fiddly as in my case it was a slightly different design so both door and frame needed modification and making sure there was enough door frame left to securely fit strike plates was a concern. So far so good and this lock is better quality than the one l removed.
